When you eat to satisfy nutrition first, then hunger, you give yourself a better chance of maintaining a healthy weight, being physically fit, and living a balanced life.  When you focus first on getting the healthiest nutrition you can from complex carbohydrates, healthy fats, quality protein and fiber before satisfying cravings for simple carbs, sugar, or salty, fat-filled foods, you’re on the right track to peak performance.

What does it mean to satisfy nutrition first, then hunger? 

It means reaching for the healthiest nutrients you can get your hands on first, and if still hungry, then eating typical table foods.  Let’s say you just finished a good solid workout and now you’re famished......
