Fortify Your Immune System

person with a coldThe immune system is made up of a network of cells, tissues, and organs that work together to protect the body against infection and to attack organisms and substances that invade body systems and cause disease.

The key primary organs of the immune system are the thymus, bone marrow, spleen, tonsils, lymph vessels, lymph nodes, adenoids, and skin and liver. What an amazing immune system we have!

The first line of defense are the white blood cells which are the first to recognize pathogens and fight off infection and which are produced in the bone marrow; lymph nodes, produce and store infection-fighting cells throughout the body; and the spleen helps control the amount of blood in the body and cleans out old or damaged blood cells from the body.

You might not want to think about this, but countless microbes live on and in our bodies, and they are not all bad. Actually they are necessary to maintain good health. Good bacteria actually provide a defense against bad bacteria and infection. Of course must have a balance. When good bacteria is reduced, bad bacteria can take over, making us feel sick.

sunrider's alpha 20C protects immune system

Thanks to cutting-edge science and 3,000 years of herbal study, ALPHA 20C provides powerful support
for your immune system. It is designed to nourish T-cells that contain naturally occurring antioxidants, calcium, and fortifying properties. I make Alpha 20C part of my daily defense strategy!
QUINARY which nourishes every system in the in the body including the lymph system (Conco) is also vital to nourishing the immune system.

lack of sleep affects your immune system
NOT GETTING ENOUGH SLEEP CAN IMPACT YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM BIG TIME. Studies show that a lack of sleep may make you more likely to catch a cold and also makes it more difficult to fight off infection.
A  study found that people who sleep fewer than seven hours a night are nearly three times more likely to get a cold than those who average eight or more hours of sleep.
For people who wake up periodically or have trouble falling asleep, the news is even worse.

Study subjects who missed out on sleep for as little as 8 percent of the time they were laying in bed were five-and-a-half times more likely to get the sniffles than those who slept throughout the night.
It’s important to get a full night of sleep to have a healthy immune system.

ESE and CALLI NIGHT and even a NUPLUS or VITASHAKE can help you not only get to sleep but have a nice relaxing sleep all night long. I personally always have a couple of ESE and a VITASHAKE before bed.

woamn stressed outSTRESS SUPPRESSES YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM.
Stress leads to an increased amount of cortisol, a steroid hormone. When you experience prolonged stress, your body needs T-cells and white blood cells, and unfortunately, cortisol continues to suppress them, thus weakening your immune system over time. With fewer lymphocytes, the body is at increased risk of infection and disease and more susceptible to contracting acute illnesses.

ESE and CALLI NIGHT can also be your friend during the day to help stress. I always start my day with 2 TOP and 2 ESE when I drink my NuPlus and Quinary. Why not nourish your nervous system and brain to be calm? It sure works for me! It helps to calm and clear my mind, and is especially helpful as a natural remedy for anxiety, restlessness, sleeplessness, and stress.

sunrider's ESE combats stressAlthough it’s extremely effective, ESE is non-habit forming and does not cause drowsiness. Use ESE to help you “ease” through the day.

Many mothers have found that their children who are having trouble in school have benefited tremendously when they take TOP and ESE to the point that the teacher mentions the improvement to the parent.

Of course, the first line of support to the immune system overall is NUPLUS and VITASHAKE with Coix Fruit as the number one ingredient.

human immune system chartDRINK UP - TO UP YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM
No surprise - one of the most important factors to a healthy immune system is healthy liquids! Liquids keeps your system moving and eliminating the things it doesn’t need, like bacteria and viruses. Your doctor will likely tell you at the first sign of a cold to “drink plenty of fluids” – grab your CALLI and FORTUNE DELIGHT and start glugging.

To prevent getting a cold in the first place, rather than trying to fight the onset symptoms, drink plenty of liquids each day.

women bikingPHYSICAL EXERCISE BENEFITS YOUR IMMUNE SYSTEM
Physical activity can help flush bacteria out of the lungs and airways, which may reduce your chance of getting a cold, flu, or other illness.

Exercise causes changes in white blood cells, which are the body’s immune system cells that fight disease. The white blood cells circulate more rapidly, so they can detect illnesses earlier than they might have before.

The brief rise in body temperature during and right after exercise may prevent bacteria from growing. This temperature rise may help the body fight infection better. Exercise also slows down the release of stress hormone.

SUNRISE can help your energy to ‘rise’ so that you will want to take a walk or do some other exercise. It is not a hyper feeling but a good solid feeling of ‘It feels so good to move.” It is also nourishing to your muscles.

GOOD NEWS! Optimism can boost your Immunity.

The study, which tracked changes in optimism and immune response among first-year law students, found that as students became more optimistic they showed stronger cell-mediated immunity, the flood of immune cells that respond to an invasion by foreign viruses or bacteria. When optimism dropped, so did cell-mediated immunity.
