Anti-Aging Forever Young SignWe’ve been discussing the possibilities of reversing aging for some time, and now science is pointing the way to how we can live longer, healthier lives.  Of course, it’s one thing to live longer, but the real prize is to live a long, healthy life without stiff joints, loss of vitality, or physical degeneration.  Do you believe this kind of anti-aging is really possible, or is it just science fiction?

This CBS News Report discusses the anti-aging possibilities being addressed by real, scientific research today.

CBS News Anti-Aging Video ClipIn his new book, "The Lucky Years," CBS News contributor Dr. David Agus begins with the anecdote of a woman who was rebuked for her scientific research on reversing aging. Decades later, scientists have successfully repeated the experiment, giving promise to the notion that "the cure for many of our ailments may actually be "within us." Dr. Agus tells CBS News chief medical correspondent Dr. Jon LaPook how anti-aging medical breakthroughs could lead to more quality, healthier elderly years.

Elderly BirthdayThe truth is, unlike any generation before us, we now have the anti-aging tools to look and feel youthful, longer.  The Philosophy of Regeneration™ is the blueprint for this new way to view the possibilities for reversing the aging process.  Re-generation is the opposite of de-generation, which is what most human bodies go through as they get older.

What is Regeneration and how do you achieve it?

There are 4 principles to this Philosophy of Regeneration, and if you adhere to these principles on a daily basis, your body can begin to regenerate instead of degenerate.

1.  Nourish and Cleanse.  This is something you should think about every day in order to create a body that can regenerate instead of degenerate.  The human body is made to take in quality nutrients that replenish cells while eliminating waste and toxins.  If you are constantly taking in low quality nutrients, your body is unable to regenerate because it does not have the right tools.  If you are not properly hydrating to flush waste and toxins, then you are only piling garbage upon garbage and this leads to degeneration.

Anti-Aging Nutrition Coach Jane WakefieldOur nutrition coach, Jane Wakefield says: “When the foods and drinks we ingest contain cells of a higher quality than the tissues from which the body is made, lower quality cells are discarded to make room for higher quality materials and healthier cells.  So, over time, as you constantly consume higher quality nutrients, your body regenerates with healthier cells, tissues, muscles, and organs.  Our bodies make millions of new cells every day:  heart, brain, bone and blood cells. Every time a cell dies, it should be replaced.  If you do not have the right nutrients to construct a new cell, you’ll either make an incomplete cell or none at all. The outcome is bad in either case, so we really need to keep important nutrients on board at all times in order to regenerate.”

Whole Foods2.  Consume Food, Not Chemicals: Our bodies understand how to use whole foods to nourish the cells.  However, our systems are not designed to use synthetic, isolated vitamins, protein powders or energy drinks made with chemical ingredients.  When you consume chemicals, your body reacts differently than if you eat whole foods.  Chemical ingredients are seen as foreign invaders by the body and must be eliminated.  So, all those synthetic, isolated vitamins are being mostly flushed out as waste and ending up in the toilet.  They are not helping your body to regenerate.  For proper nourishment, it is important to stick to a diet that consists primarily of whole foods, not laboratory produced supplements that are really meant to deceive the body.

3.  Variety:  Our bodies have many different organs and parts, so you need a variety of foods to benefit every bodily function.

These excerpts come from Health.gov Dietary Guidelines:

  • “No single food can supply all nutrients in the amounts you need. For example, oranges provide vitamin C but no vitamin B12; cheese provides vitamin B12 but no vitamin C….Choosing a variety of foods within and across food groups improves dietary patterns because foods within the same group have different combinations of nutrients and other beneficial substances….You can get enough protein from a vegetarian diet as long as the variety and amounts of foods consumed are adequate… Because animal products are the only food sources of vitamin B12, vegans must supplement their diets with a source of this vitamin. In addition, vegan diets, particularly those of children, require care to ensure adequacy of vitamin D and calcium, which most Americans obtain from milk products…Some foods such as grain products, vegetables, and fruits have many nutrients and other healthful substances but are relatively low in calories…Foods high in both sugars and fat contain many calories but often are low in vitamins, minerals, or fiber.”

Quinary is made with 50 herbsThis is why it’s best to consume a variety of foods with a high proportion of essential nutrients to the number of calories.  Diets that restrict the variety of healthy foods you can consume are not really that healthy.  For example, the Grapefruit diet, the Atkins diet, and the Paleo diet cause people to restrict variety, which only contributes to degeneration of tissues and organs. Also, vitamins and minerals that are not from whole foods do not help the body regenerate.

4.  ConcentrationThis is the real secret to Regeneration!  You will have a hard time consuming enough quality nutrients in regular foods to achieve regeneration.  The importance of concentrating healthy nutrients cannot be overstated.  Most of the foods, drinks and supplements you buy in typical grocery stores and even health food stores are lacking in serious benefits.  Any plant-based ingredients are often grown on depleted soil with chemical fertilizers, doused with pesticides, and radiated or fumigated for extra precautions.  What's even worse is that many supplement makers contract out their manufacturing to third parties.  Then, they simply grind herbs and encapsulate them or crush them into a powder, without any consideration to how their herbs are combined.  On the other hand, some of our most valuable products are made with dozens of different herbs, highly concentrated so that many pounds of quality plant ingredients are squeezed into lower calorie, healthy formulations that can lead to regeneration.

Cliff Smith, Jane Wakefield and Dr. Tei-Fu ChenHere’s what our expert, Dr. Tei-Fu Chen has to say about the importance of using proper combinations of ingredients for safety and concentrating them enough for effectiveness:

“The strong point of one ingredient can cover the weakness of another.  If you know how to combine foods, you can concentrate them to work together to create a stronger food.  This requires expertise, knowledge and study.  Chinese culture has 5,000 years of experimenting and studying plants and herbs in combination.  There are thousands and thousands of different kinds of formulas.  However, even in Chinese culture, the formulas focus on curing symptoms and diseases, and often contradict each other.  I have carefully studied the formulas that previous generations used, but I have walked away from the philosophy of  ‘curing’ to the philosophy of balance - The Philosophy of Regeneration™.”

Our manufacturer, Sunrider, has trademarked the Philosophy of Regeneration™ because it is essential to everything they do. This principle makes an incredible difference in product concept, function and quality.  With Sunrider products, Dr. Chen has elevated and transformed the traditional use of plants to optimize health.  This independent thinking is light years ahead of the current “cure” mentality.  In order to reverse aging, you must reverse degeneration of cells, muscles, tissues and organs and give the body the tools it needs to successfully regenerate.
